Ear, Nose and Throat

The ENT and Head and Neck Surgery department at our hospital provides excellent, problem oriented, holistic care for patients with all kinds of problems faced in ENT, head and neck. We have a comprehensive OPD assessment for adults and pediatric patients for ailments related to ear, nose, throat, salivary glands, oral cavity and head and neck. We conduct regular outreach programmes at the communities around the campus to include those who face difficulty in commuting to the hospital and for early clinical diagnoses as part of the Community Medicine outreach programmes of the hospital.

Our department routinely does all major and minor ENT, head and neck surgeries including diseases of the salivary glands. We are well equipped with high resolution operating microscopes, microdrills, high-end endoscopes (Karl-Storz), Professional Image Enhancement System by Karl-Storz (SPIES), vessel sealing devices by Ligasure. Our operation theatres are well equipped with laminar airflow, HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filters and state of the art operation tables. Our care includes those who are vulnerable and the needy providing affordable and fair (conscientious) treatment protocols sticking onto the footsteps laid by the founding parents of our institution. We are a referral care centre for the patients in and around Chittoor and beyond and are always in touch with the main campus to provide prompt and timely quaternary care in the best interest of the patient

Otology

The clinic provides evidence based as well as personalized treatment solutions for ear ailments affecting across all age groups. We are well equipped to treat common ear diseases namely chronic otitis media, acute otitis media, mastoiditis, Cholesteatoma, ear polyps, facial nerve disorders, outer ear disorders and vestibular diseases like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, Meniere’s disease; congenital as well as acquired hearing loss. We have a cost effective audiology unit with the latest audiometry, tympanoplasty, acoustic reflex tests and hearing aid advices.

Rhinology clinic is well equipped to provide timely diagnosis and standard treatment solutions for rhinosinusitis including fungal rhinosinusitis, allergic and non allergic rhinitis, nasal and paranasal tumors, deviated nasal septum, facial surgeries.

Laryngology Clinic is equipped with Telelaryngoscopy and flexible fiber-optic endoscopes and with the attached speech and swallowing assessment clinic, we provide excellent care for throat and larynx pathologies such as vocal cord benign lesions, vocalcord paralysis, dysphonia, hoarseness, dysphagia, malignant and benign laryngeal and oropharyngeal lesions. We closely work with Physical rehabilitation department for speech and swallowing rehabilitation for patients with disability.

We at Chittoor campus, look forward to become a centre of excellence in Otolaryngology with the most latest treatment facilities, diagnostic instruments and operative facilities. To start with, the department plans to start a sleep clinic in lines of the stellar facilities at Vellore campus to encompass airway pathologies and obstructive sleep apnea.

We also aim to become the referral centre for head and Neck pathologies including oral cancer, carcinoma larynx, thyroid and parathyroid cancers, salivary gland neoplasms and Skull base clinic. We at Christian Medical College upgrade our skills and infrastructure on a regular and timely basis to offer the best treatment for people from all background.
